SABINE PARISH, La. — The Sabine Parish Sheriff’s Office, Sheriff Aaron Mitchell, members of his command staff, and deputies have received prestigious FBI Law Enforcement Executive Development Association (FBI-LEEDA) Trilogy Awards in recognition of their commitment to advanced leadership training and professional development.
Sheriff Mitchell and 35 deputies, along with other law enforcement leaders from the surrounding area, recently completed the Executive Leadership Institute (ELI), the final course in the three-part FBI-LEEDA Trilogy leadership training program.
FBI-LEEDA is an independent nonprofit educational organization dedicated to providing leadership training, education, and networking opportunities for law enforcement and public safety executives. Its mission focuses on strengthening law enforcement leadership, improving management practices, and promoting professional development through advanced training.
The Executive Leadership Institute is designed for executive-level law enforcement professionals and addresses challenges facing modern policing. The highly interactive program follows FBI-LEEDA’s “Cops Talking to Cops” approach, encouraging participants to share professional experiences while developing leadership skills.
Training topics included emerging trends in law enforcement, leadership case studies, performance and risk management, command discipline and liability, public trust, bias and diversity, employee wellness, transformational leadership, and emotional intelligence.
To earn the FBI-LEEDA Trilogy Award, participants must successfully complete three intensive leadership courses: the Supervisor Leadership Institute (SLI), Command Leadership Institute (CLI), and Executive Leadership Institute (ELI). Sheriff Mitchell and the participating deputies previously completed the first two courses over the past several years before finishing the final phase this week.
In addition to the individual Trilogy Awards, the Sabine Parish Sheriff’s Office received the FBI-LEEDA Agency Trilogy Award, which recognizes public safety agencies whose entire command staff has completed all three leadership institutes.
Sheriff Mitchell expressed pride in personally completing the Trilogy program and praised his deputies for their dedication to continuing education and professional growth.
He emphasized that the training reflects the department’s ongoing commitment to strengthening leadership, improving operations, and maintaining high standards of professionalism within the Sabine Parish Sheriff’s Office.
The recognition highlights the agency’s investment in developing knowledgeable and effective law enforcement leaders who are better equipped to serve and protect the residents of Sabine Parish.
