Parish Sheriff’s Office conducts halloween sex offender compliance checks

The Sabine Parish Sheriff’s Office conducted sex offender compliance checks throughout the parish on Halloween night, Saturday, October 31, 2026, to ensure registered sex offenders were following Louisiana state registration requirements.

According to Sheriff Aaron Mitchell, Sabine Parish Sheriff’s Office Sex Offender Coordinator Deputy H. Pardee, patrol deputies, and Louisiana Probation and Parole agents conducted compliance checks at 50 registered sex offender residences across the parish.

Of the 50 residences checked, all but one offender were found to be in compliance with state registration requirements.

Authorities reported that one registered offender was not home during the compliance check and is suspected of relocating without properly notifying Deputy Pardee, as required by Louisiana law. The incident remains under investigation.

Sheriff Mitchell commended the department’s patrol deputies and dispatchers for their additional efforts, assistance, and coordination throughout the Halloween night operation.

He also expressed appreciation to Louisiana Probation and Parole agents, the Many Police Department, and the Zwolle Police Department for their assistance and continued cooperation in monitoring registered sex offenders throughout Sabine Parish.

Deputy Pardee emphasized that the Sheriff’s Office will continue conducting random compliance checks throughout the year to help ensure registered sex offenders remain in compliance with Louisiana state law.

The ongoing enforcement efforts are part of the Sabine Parish Sheriff’s Office’s commitment to public safety and accountability within the community.
