Sabine Parish man arrested on multiple child sex crime charges; bond reduced by court

MANY, La. — An 80-year-old Many man is facing multiple felony charges following an investigation by the Sabine Parish Sheriff’s Office into allegations of sex crimes involving young children.

According to Sheriff Aaron Mitchell, Roger J. Pilkington, 80, was arrested on June 26, 2026, after detectives launched an investigation on June 23 when the parents of one alleged victim reported that Pilkington had inappropriately touched their daughter while she was attending a private in-home daycare.

As the investigation progressed, a total of five juvenile victims, ranging in age from 5 to 10 years old, were identified.

The children were interviewed at the Gingerbread House Child Advocacy Center in Shreveport by trained forensic interviewers.

Based on evidence gathered during the investigation, detectives believe the alleged abuse had been occurring over the past two years.

Following the investigation, detectives obtained arrest warrants for Pilkington, who was booked into the Sabine Parish Detention

Center on the following charges:

Three counts of Sexual Battery involving a victim under the age of 13

Three counts of Molestation of a Juvenile under the age of 13

The Sabine Parish Sheriff’s Office originally reported that Pilkington’s total bond was set at $600,000.

Update (July 13): The 11th Judicial District Court has since reduced Pilkington’s total bond to $200,000.

The investigation was conducted by detectives with the Sabine Parish Sheriff’s Office.

All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
