The tragic shooting death Oct. 12 of Northwestern State University football player Ronnie Caldwell Jr. has resulted in a wide range of reactions, many shared on social media. The parents of Caldwell have announced a pending lawsuit. A petition started by a football player, with an NSU SGA officials’ recommendation, has over 5,000 signatures asking for the season to resume. National and regional media coverage has developed.
