Opal Christine (Anderson) Marr, 96, of Many, Louisiana went to her Heavenly home on Thursday, August 3, 2023. She was born on April 27, 1927 in Many, Louisiana to W.C. Anderson and Linder Bell (Sanders) Anderson.
A visitation will be held for her at Kilpatrick’s Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 9891 Texas Highway, Many, Louisiana, on Monday, August 7, 2023 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Her funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August 8, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. at Oak Hill Baptist Church, 154 Pastors Drive, Many, Louisiana with Dr. Carroll Marr of Fort Worth, Texas officiating. A burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Preceding her in death are her parents, W. C. and Linder Bell (Sanders) Anderson; her spouse of 52 years, Glenn L. Marr; her sisters, Arlene Pilcher, Katherine Carter, and Bertha Gandy; and her brother, Oscar Anderson. She is survived by her son, Larry Marr & wife, Pennye of Many, LA; her brothers, R. H. Anderson & wife, Brenda of Many, LA, and Kenneth Anderson & wife, Sharon of Many, LA; her two grandchildren, Patrick Marr & wife, Sarah of Shreveport, LA, and Alyson Ford & husband, Roger of Bigelow, AR; her 6 grandchildren; along with a host of nieces, nephews, friends and other family members.
Honoring her as pallbearers will be Patrick Marr, Roger Ford, R. H. Anderson, Kenneth Anderson, Kenny Carter, and Jimmy Floyce Marr. While Jim Anderson, George Anderson, and Billy Guay will be her honorary pallbearers.
Some of Opal’s hobbies included working in her vegetable garden, playing the piano, and spending time with her family and friends while joking around, laughing and having fun with them. In addition, she enjoyed working puzzles, and she was a faithful servant to her religion.
