CONVERSE, La – A Converse woman is offering a cash reward to anyone with information that leads to the recovery of her stolen items following a break in.
Roughly two weeks ago a house in Converse, Louisiana was broken into and multiple items were stolen. After breaking in through the back door, the burglars were able to steal two jewelry boxes, one belonging to the victims deceased mother, two HP Laptops, an iPad, several older iPhones, miscellaneous tools, a few drills, and a collection of coins that belonged to the victims deceased mother-in-law.
According to the owner of the home, Emily Evans Litton, the most upsetting thing has been losing her late mothers jewelry that she cannot replace. Because of this, she is offering a cash reward of $5,000 to anyone who is able to offer information that leads to the recovery of the items.
Litton is pleading with whoever stole the items to return those that have such sentimental value to her and her family. “We really just want the sentimental things back that we can never replace”
Emily stated that this break-in has been “devastating, my mom’s jewelry and my mother in laws coin collection we can never replace. My moms jewelry was not worth much at all but it was priceless to me…my mom died before my daughter was born so I named her after my mom and her ring and earrings were what I wanted to hand down to my daughter someday so that’s been the hardest for me.”
The Sabine Parish Sheriff’s Office is actively investigating the break-in. If anyone has any information, contact Detective Coby Lang, Sabine Parish CID, at 318-590-9475. If you wish to remain anonymous, call Crime Stoppers at 318-256-4511 or submit a tip through our Sabine Parish Sheriff App.
