The Sabine Parish School Board is inviting local organizations, clubs and community programs to participate in Community Programs Day on Thursday, November 19, 2026, from 9 a.m. until noon at schools throughout the parish.
The event is designed to strengthen connections between Sabine Parish schools and the surrounding community while introducing students to organizations, services, activities and opportunities available to them.
Community Programs Day provides participating groups with an opportunity to visit schools, interact with students, distribute informational materials and promote membership in programs that may spark students’ interests.
The Sabine Parish School Board welcomes participation from a variety of organizations, including Gideons International, Toledo Bend Baptist Resort Ministry, Child Evangelism Fellowship and other community organizations, clubs and programs.
Throughout the event, students will have the opportunity to visit informational tables and learn about the services and activities offered by participating groups. The initiative is intended to encourage student involvement while increasing awareness of opportunities available throughout the community.
School officials emphasized that the event is an opportunity for organizations to establish meaningful connections with students and share information about programs that could positively influence their lives.
The school board is encouraging interested groups to participate in the event and help strengthen relationships between local schools and community organizations.
Organizations interested in participating should contact Helen McDonald at 318-256-9228, extension 70102, or email mcdonaldh@spsb.la for additional information.
