Steel Magnolias will return to the big screen at the Many Community Center later this month as part of a special tribute to Dolly Parton.

The film will be shown Saturday, Sept. 26, at 6 p.m., marking seven years since the community previously gathered for the movie.

Admission to the screening will be free, but those attending are encouraged to make a donation at the theater to Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, a program that provides free books to young children.

The Imagination Library has distributed more than 300 million free books to children around the world, helping promote early childhood literacy and a love of reading.

The 1989 film Steel Magnolias, set in Louisiana, features an ensemble cast that includes Parton and has remained a favorite among audiences for decades.

Community members are encouraged to mark their calendars and attend the Sept. 26 screening while supporting a program that continues Parton’s commitment to childhood literacy.
