First United Methodist Church of Many will host a free Diabetes Management Education program later this month, offering community members an opportunity to learn more about managing diabetes and making healthy lifestyle choices.
The program will be held Saturday, Aug. 22, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at First United Methodist Church, located at 1000 Main Street in Many.
The event will be presented by Amie Mitchell, registered dietitian, and Cathy Troquille, retired registered nurse, who will share their knowledge and encouragement with participants.
Topics will include understanding important health numbers, learning healthy eating tips and discovering ways to stay active. A light lunch will also be provided.
The program is free to attend, but pre-registration is required, and space is limited. Those planning to attend are encouraged to register in advance by contacting the church office at 318-256-3632.
Organizers said the event is designed to give participants practical information to help them take greater control of their health while connecting with others in the community.
A drawing for prizes will also be held during the program.
