SABINE PARISH, La. — Motorists in Sabine Parish are being advised to plan ahead as a portion of Carters Ferry Road will be temporarily closed this week to allow for road improvement work.
According to the Sabine Parish Road Department, the closure will take place on Thursday, July 9, 2026, for a scheduled culvert replacement project.
The affected section of roadway is between Hideaway Drive and Dogwood. During the closure, crews will be working to replace the culvert to improve drainage and maintain the integrity of the roadway.
Drivers are encouraged to seek alternate routes and allow extra travel time while the work is underway. Officials ask motorists to use caution near the construction area and to follow all posted signs and directions from road crews.
The Sabine Parish Road Department appreciates the public’s patience and cooperation as crews complete the necessary infrastructure improvements designed to enhance the safety and reliability of the parish’s road system.
Residents with travel plans through the area on Thursday should make arrangements to avoid the closure until the project is completed.
