Many High School girls basketball team gains valuable experience at LSU team camp

Members of the Many High School girls basketball team recently traveled to Baton Rouge to participate in the LSU Team Camp, where they had the opportunity to compete against other programs while learning from some of the top names in collegiate basketball.

The camp provided Lady Tigers players with a day of scrimmage competition, skill development, and firsthand exposure to the culture and expectations of one of the nation’s premier women’s basketball programs.

During the event, the team received guidance from LSU Head Coach Kim Mulkey and interacted with current LSU women’s basketball players, gaining valuable insight into leadership, teamwork, preparation, and the dedication required to compete at the collegiate level.

School officials said the experience allowed student-athletes to sharpen their skills on the court while also learning lessons that extend beyond the game.

The LSU Team Camp attracts high school programs from across Louisiana and surrounding states, offering athletes the opportunity to compete against quality competition and evaluate their progress during the offseason.

For Many High School’s girls basketball program, the trip served as both a learning experience and a chance to build team chemistry ahead of the upcoming season.

Coach Mulkey, one of the most successful coaches in women’s college basketball history, has led LSU to national prominence and is widely recognized for her championship success and player development. Exposure to her coaching philosophy and interaction with LSU players provided a unique opportunity for the Lady Tigers to see what it takes to compete at the highest levels of the sport.

School leaders praised the team for representing Many High School and Sabine Parish with pride during the event.

As summer workouts and preparations continue, the experience gained at LSU Team Camp is expected to help the Lady Tigers build momentum heading into the next basketball season.

For the student-athletes who participated, the day offered more than just basketball competition—it provided inspiration, valuable mentorship, and a glimpse into the opportunities that hard work and dedication can create both on and off the court.
