The Town of Many has announced an upcoming routine chlorine cleanse of the municipal water system, set to begin March 11 and continue through May 22 according to town officials.

Officials said the temporary treatment adjustment is part of standard system maintenance designed to help maintain water quality throughout the distribution system.

Residents do not need to boil water or take any additional precautions, as the process is not considered an emergency. During the cleanse period, customers may notice a stronger chlorine taste or odor in their drinking water.

Town officials emphasized that chlorine levels will remain within Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) safety standards and pose no health risk to the public.
