In response to community needs, NRMC Orthopedic Associates is pleased to welcome another
outstanding orthopedist to its team. Dr. Ricardo Valle joins Dr. Ted Jordan at the Orthopedic
Associates offices located in the Multispecialty Clinic on Keyser Avenue, adjacent to the hospital.
Fellowship trained in Sports Medicine and a Board-Certified Orthopedic Surgeon, Dr. Valle
specializes in the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of disorders of the musculoskeletal system.
His expertise includes arthroscopic hip, knee, shoulder, and elbow procedures, as well as total joint
replacement of knees and hips. With an extensive background in sports medicine, he is highly
skilled in the management of athletic injuries including fractures and trauma while focusing on the
prevention of future injuries.
A graduate of the University of Puerto Rico in Biology, Dr. Valle received his medical degree from
Ponce School of Medicine in Ponce, Puerto Rico. He then completed an Orthopedic Surgery
Residency at The Albany Medical College in New York. At Baylor College of Medicine and Texas
Medical Center in Houston, he completed a Sports Medicine Fellowship which included caring for
professional athletes as an assistant team physician. He is a member of the American Orthopaedic
Society for Sports Medicine and the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons.
“I enjoy helping people of all ages and activity levels. From taking care of kids with monkey bar
injuries to helping grandparents with arthritis, hip fractures or total joint replacement, I listen to
my patients and want them to fully understand their injury or condition and treatment options. Not
everyone needs surgery,” Dr. Valle explained. “My sports medicine training also helps me in
diagnosing and treating patients who served in the military. As a civilian doctor at Cherry Point
Naval Air Station in North Carolina, I treated active military for injuries that were very similar to
those of professional athletes. I look forward to helping veterans here in Natchitoches with their
orthopedic needs. My goal for all my patients to help them get better, prevent future injury, and
stay as physically active as possible going forward. Our relationship is a partnership.”
“With Dr. Valle’s background in sports medicine and working with athletes of all ages, NRMC
Orthopedic Associates will be able to further expand sports medicine services to our region,”
explained Kirk Soileau, NRMC Chief Executive Officer. “Dr. Valle also has a special interest caring for
patients with general orthopedic needs including those with arthritis and other musculoskeletal
disorders. Along with Dr. Jordon, Dr. Valle will help patients better understand their injuries or
orthopedic issues, offer treatment options, and provide expert care. We appreciate Dr. Valle
choosing to be part of our team at NRMC and relocating to our community. Please join me in
welcoming him to Natchitoches. “
