Threat Received by High School in Neighboring Parish

ROSEPINE, La – On March 10, 2022 at approximately 12:26 p.m. the Rosepine Police Department contacted the Vernon Parish Sheriff’s Office in regards to a threatening telephone call received by the Assistant Principal of Rosepine High School.
 
Sheriff Craft, Deputies, and Detectives responded to the location and met with RPD Officers, VPSO School Resource Officers, School Personnel, and Administrative Personnel from the Vernon Parish School Board.
 
Upon speaking with school personnel it was learned that a phone call was received by the school, from a blocked phone number, and a female verbalized a threat to the school before ending the call.
Law Enforcement Personnel, along with VPSB Personnel, conducted a complete and through search of the student body, classrooms, lockers, and all out buildings of the school.
 
No weapons were located and at this time the threat is considered unfounded.
 
The investigation into this matter is ongoing and every effort, through technical means, will be made to identify the caller. Anyone person found to be responsible for making this threat will be arrested and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.
