Update:
The Village of Florien is pleased to let our residents know that we are back on our water system. You may experience low pressure until the lines build back up and our water tower gets full. This should only last a couple of hours, if that.
The office is currently open but workers are in and out making sure that everything is running properly. If you call the office and you do not get someone, please message our Facebook page.
Again, we sincerely thank each of you for your patience.
Original:
The Village of Florien would like to thank everyone for their continued patience with the water situation. We are still getting our water from Sabine District 1 and should have the main line back together this afternoon or tomorrow morning.
DHH requires water facilities to inspect and have our tanks cleaned every 4-5 years. In order to inspect the tanks they have to be drained. Once our tanks were drained, we had to connect to Sabine in order to provide our residents with water.
We realize this is not ideal and we did not anticipate a break in the main line. The hold up is the correct part to fix the main line back the way it was before the break. Due to COVID parts for nearly everything are hard to get. Our part is on its way and we will have it repaired as quickly as possible. The repair that was previously made was simply to keep our residents with water but in order to get back on our own water system, we have to have it back to its original state before the break.
Once the repair is made, we will begin back on our own system and pressure should resume as normal. We will also begin flushing the lines for those experiencing dirty water. At this time we will still remain under boil advisory.
Again, we thank you for your continued patience as we continue to work around the clock to bring us back online with our water system.
