The Sabine Parish Tourist Commission (Toledo Bend Lake Country) is seeking a new Director. The Commission is a quasi-governmental organization responsible for destination marketing and development with a primary goal of increasing overnight room sales to its hotels, RV parks and vacation rentals through leisure travel, groups, and outdoor enthusiast. Position qualifications include strong leadership qualities, ability to develop and manage annual budget, governmental relation skills, and vision for development of tourism product. Applicant should have knowledge of marketing including digital and print advertisement, social media, and publication of printed material. It is required that the selected candidate have a bachelor’s degree or similar work experience in a tourism or hospitality related field. Salary range from $50,000 – $70,000 per year, depending on education level and experience, 50% of employee medical insurance premium provided plus vision and dental. Retirement IRA opportunity available. Physical requirements: must have a valid driver’s license, be able to lift and carry 40 lbs. and ability to maintain a flexible work schedule that includes morning, evening, and weekends. Includes approximately 10 overnight out of town trips for educational or promotional purposes.
