The Louisiana High School Athletic Cross Country (LHSAA) state championship meet will be held at the Walter Ledet Track and Field Complex on the campus of NSU on Monday and Tuesday, November 16 and 17. Admission is $10. NSU has hosted this event for over 30 years and specifically, coaches and staff from the NSU Athletic Department partner with LHSAA staff to plan and coordinate the event. This event has attracted approximately 10,000 visitors (competitors, fans, officials, etc.) to town over the course of a two-day period. The NSU Department of Health and Human Performance conducted a study a year ago that reflected the economic event of this event to be over $4 million.
