The Sheriff’s Office, with help from local first responders, Central Sabine Fire Department Dive Team, Desoto Parish Dive Team and Wildlife & Fisheries responded to a drowning on Toledo Bend Lake shortly after 2pm today on November 1, 2020.

The victim, a 29 year old white male, was located 2 1/2 hours later in 6 feet of water, 100 feet from the shore at the end of Springwood Ridge, which is in the San Miguel area of the lake. Witnesses said the victim was trying to swim out to an island when he went under.
