North Sabine Fire District is very excited to have had their Open House and Dedication Jan. 3. The nearly 17,000 sq ft Station is one of the most Modern Fire Stations in the parish and Northwest Louisiana. In an era where volunteerism is dying this facility became a necessity to house personnel 24/7 and all required equipment.
The station has 5 offices, a fully equipped classroom to accommodate 40+ students, commercial kitchen, weight training gym, 7 dorm rooms and means to wash and clean uniforms and gear instead of taking contaminated uniforms home to their families.
All aspects of the facility were designed with fire fighter Health and Safety in mind. Every vehicle is connected to a vehicle exhaust system to remove 100 % of cancer causing exhaust from the interior of the building.
This facility is the Flagship of their Fire District and many years of planning has gone into its layout and design.
Two months ago they hosted Fire Prevention program where 1500 of the nearly 2000 students of North Sabine attended.
The Station sits adjacent to the Regional Training Facility for Sabine Parish that is available to all departments and local industry to come and train, to date there has been 72 agencies from two countries attend training.
The station would like to thank the following individuals for attending the open house:
