ZWOLLE, La – Sheriff Aaron Mitchell and his Deputies participated in 3rd Grade Educational Day at the Zwolle Tamale Fiesta Friday morning.
Sgt Josiah Steinke with K-9 “Tessa” and Sgt Nick Sandel with K-9 “Kay” put on a demonstration for the kids. School Resource Officer Sgt James Campbell explained to the kids the duties and responsibilities of the K-9s and their handlers.
Sgt Steinke also agreed to put on the “bite suit” for Sgt Sandel and K-9 “Kay” to display his pursue and bite technique.
Louisiana State Police were in attendance as well and put on their own presentation to the students.
Louisiana State Police had the privilege to attend the 45th Annual Zwolle Tamale Fiesta Educational Day. Troopers were able to discuss various safety topics with over 300 3rd graders from across Sabine Parish.
