Sheriff Aaron Mitchell and the Sabine Parish Sheriff’s Office want to wish the students, teachers, and parents a happy and safe 2021-2022 school year.
Sheriff Mitchell reminds motorists to obey speed limits in school zones and watch for school bus loading and unloading. There will be Patrol Deputies monitoring traffic and speeds at the rural school zones in the parish.
There will also be School Resource Officers at each school campus. Sheriff Mitchell has worked closely with the Sabine Parish School Board to ensure our kids are safe.
All drivers are warned to not use a cellular device while driving. As of August 1st, it is illegal for anyone to have a cellular device in your hand while driving; it must be used handsfree or Bluetooth. If everyone does their part, this can be the most successful and safest school year yet.
Sheriff Mitchell and his staff humbly thank the citizens for their overwhelming support, and we will continue to make Sabine Parish a safer place for our kids.
