Update: Basketball Courts Have Been Repaired Thanks to Donations

MANY, La – The basketball backstop destroyed last week is now repaired/replaced at Leon James Park. Thanks to two generous donors who paid the cost of repairing the backstop and replacing the glass. Thanks also to Wayne Turner of Glass Technology who donated the labor. Now let the games begin! And let’s take care of these parks that provide activities fir our citizens and youth!

The Many Police Department is seeking information on individuals involved in damaging the basket ball goal on MLK.
Mary Brocato, a resident of Many and active volunteer for the town, took to social media to express her disappointment in the person responsible for the vandalism saying “the Town of Many recently installed two expensive basketball goals and posts at Leon James Park on MLK Street. Generous people donated the money for these goals. Last night (July 8th) someone completely destroyed this one. If you know anything about this terrible action, please contact the City Police or the Sheriffs Dept at once. And shame on the person or persons who did this.”
Many PD echoed this disappointment by stating “We have all worked hard as a Community and Police Department to improve our town. We would like to continue in securing our youth against damage to the property procured for their entertainment. “
Anyone with any information regarding the vandalism is encouraged to contact the Many Police Department.
Thank you for your assistance.
